
Gas prices have moved lower across much of Northwest Georgia, with Chattooga County averaging $3.86 per gallon as of Monday — the same as Georgia’s statewide average.
Among nearby counties, Walker County has the lowest average at $3.70, followed by Gordon County at $3.80 and Floyd County at $3.81.
Drivers crossing into Northeast Alabama aren’t necessarily finding cheaper gasoline this week. DeKalb County, Alabama is averaging $3.94 per gallon, while neighboring Cherokee County is averaging $3.95.

At Chattooga County’s $3.86 average, filling a typical 15-gallon tank costs about $57.90.

Nationally, the average price of regular gasoline has fallen 11 cents over the past week to $4.36 per gallon, following a sharp increase in September.
