Chattooga High School standout Kadin Fife, one of Georgia’s top rising defensive linemen, has announced his commitment to the University of Tennessee. Fife, a senior for the Indians, made his decision public on Friday, November 21st, marking a major milestone in his recruitment and adding to Tennessee’s growing pipeline of talent from Northwest Georgia.
Fife has quickly emerged as one of the most promising defenders in the state, drawing significant interest from multiple Division I programs. His combination of size, strength, and upside made him a priority target for the Volunteers, who continue to recruit heavily in Georgia.
Tennessee’s coaching staff, including head coach Josh Heupel and defensive line coach Rodney Garner, played a major role in securing Fife’s commitment. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Fife said he felt strongly about the program’s leadership and direction, noting his belief that Tennessee is “building a really good program.”
He also praised the Volunteers’ defensive style, telling SI that the defensive line’s aggressive, vertical approach fits his strengths and will allow him to “go make plays.” Fife added that Tennessee’s atmosphere stood out to him during visits, calling it “the loudest I have ever been to.”
The Chattooga senior also pointed to Tennessee’s loyal fanbase and the team’s rising trajectory as key factors in his decision. While he has had limited interactions with position coach Steven Ruzic, Fife described his early impressions as positive.
Fife becomes one of the Vols’ earliest commitments from Georgia for the upcoming class, reinforcing the program’s continued recruiting focus on the Peach State. He joins a growing list of prospects choosing Tennessee as the team looks to build future SEC success.
Chattooga High School officials say they’re proud to see a local student-athlete earn this opportunity at the next level.
