Chattooga High School students delivered a standout performance at the SkillsUSA Georgia State Leadership and Skills Conference (SLSC) 2026, held Thursday through Saturday of last week at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
The annual conference is one of the state’s top career and technical education events, featuring more than 150 skilled, technical, and leadership competitions and drawing over 3,000 middle school, high school, and college students. The event serves as a major hands-on workforce development program, giving students the chance to demonstrate real-world skills and leadership in competitive settings.
Chattooga High praised all students who competed and qualified for state, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and professionalism throughout the week.

Several Chattooga High gold medalists are now headed to the national stage. Gold medal winners in Cabinet Making, Welding, and Welding Fabrication will represent Georgia in June at the SkillsUSA National Competition.
School officials also recognized the advisors who helped guide students through training and competition preparation: Phillip Jackson (Automotive), Bengi Price (Construction), Robert Robinson (Law and Public Safety), and Carter Woodall (Welding).
