The Chickamauga Antique Tractor Club will host its annual Clyde Cox Memorial Antique Tractor Ride on Saturday, May 2, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The yearly spring ride travels through Southern Walker and Northern Chattooga Counties and honors the memory of Clyde Cox, a longtime club member remembered for his love of driving antique John Deere tractors.
The ride will begin and end at the home of Melvin Dawson in the Center Post Community, located at 5146 East Broomtown Road in Trion. Participants will travel more than 20 miles through scenic countryside with several rest stops planned along the route. Around noon, riders will stop for a picnic lunch, and participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.
Organizers say a covered trailer with seating will be available for those who do not own an antique tractor or prefer not to drive.
For more information, contact Melvin Dawson at 423-991-9637 or visit the Chickamauga Antique Tractor and Engine Club Facebook page. In the event of rain, the ride will be canceled.
