The Community Resource Center of Chattooga County (CRC Chattooga) is asking the community for help restocking its food pantry ahead of Thanksgiving after serving 270 families in just three days.

According to figures shared by the organization, CRC provided food assistance to 94 families on Monday, 80 families on Wednesday and another 96 families on Friday.

The heavy demand has left pantry shelves running low, prompting an appeal for donations of food and other essential pantry items as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.

CRC Chattooga says several items are especially needed, including canned meats, mashed potatoes, canned vegetables and canned fruits. Donations of other nonperishable pantry staples are also welcome.

The organization shared a photograph showing partially empty shelves at its food pantry, illustrating the need to replenish supplies following a busy week of serving local families.

With Thanksgiving approaching on November 26, CRC is working to rebuild its food inventory so it can continue providing assistance to households facing food insecurity throughout Chattooga County.

The organization operates under the mission of “Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope, Empowering Chattooga,” providing food assistance and other community resources to those in need.

Residents who are able to contribute are encouraged to consider donating pantry staples to help CRC Chattooga continue meeting the needs of local families during the holiday season.
