Mrs. Doris Ruth Day, age 76, of Menlo, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Day was born in LaFayette, Georgia on March 4, 1933, daughter of the late Porter Hinton and Lena Powell Day. She was employed with Best Manufacturing, and was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Vaughn, a sister, Kathryn Jo Williams; and a nephew, Michael Dempsey.

Mrs. Day is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Larry Starkey of Summerville; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Kris and Christy Willis of Summerville; Nieces and Special Friends Karen Howard and Jimmy McCullough and Pam and Derrick Brown; three grandchildren, Riley Willis, Hannah Marks and Tripp Marks.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Day will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Quinn officiating. Interment will follow in the AMI Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Brown, Scott Howard, Jimmy McCullough, Matt Heaps, Donnie Moss, Dustin Moss, Jackie Cash and Andy Cash. Honorary Pallbearers will be former employees of Best Manufacturing, Ollie Cash, Evelyn Bailey, Dot Wright, Pete and Neil Vaughn, Paul Wright, C.W. and Teresa Ray, and all personal friends.

Mrs. Day will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
