Just in time for the holiday season, the Georgia Grown program and the Farmers and Consumers Market Bulletin have released the 2025 Georgia Grown Christmas Tree Farm Map, highlighting nearly 100 Christmas tree farms across the state. The map is designed to help families find locally grown trees and keep holiday dollars closer to home.
For families in Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia, it’s important to note there are no Christmas tree farms located in Chattooga County, but there are nearby options—two farms in neighboring Walker County, plus one in Floyd County and one in Gordon County.
Along with shopping local, fire officials and safety experts remind families to practice live Christmas tree safety. If you bring a real tree into your home, keep it well-watered—a fresh tree can drink a lot, especially the first few days. Place it away from heat sources like fireplaces, space heaters, and vents, and always use good-condition lights. Turn tree lights off before leaving home or going to bed, and if needles become dry and brittle, it may be time to take the tree down.
The Georgia Grown tree map is another way to connect families with local farms and traditions—while also reminding everyone to celebrate safely.
