The Chattooga County Young Farmers Association is launching its first Farm Stand Card program during the months of May and June, giving residents a fun way to support local farmers and farm stands.
The LaFayette Farmers Market kicks off its 2026 season today with its annual Opening Day Market and Plant Sale at the Farmers Market Pavilion on East Villanow Street.
The event runs from 9 AM until 1 PM and features more than 70 local farmers, makers, and bakers offering fresh produce, plants, and handmade goods. Organizers say all items sold at the market are grown or made within 50 miles of LaFayette, supporting local farms and small businesses.
Visitors can also enjoy food, music, and family-friendly activities. A special “Kids Grow Here” area includes seed planting and a scavenger hunt to help children get excited about gardening and agriculture.
The opening day event marks the start of another season focused on local agriculture, small businesses, and community connection in Northwest Georgia.
Plant lovers across Chattooga County are invited to take part in a popular community event returning next month.
The 6th Annual Chattooga County Plant Swap is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd from 2 to 6 p.m. at Teloga Spring Farm, located at 9505 Highway 337 in Summerville.
Organizers say the free event will bring together the community for an afternoon of plants, fellowship, and fun. Attendees are encouraged to bring plants to swap, along with friends and family.
This year’s event will also feature raffle tickets, food trucks, a bake sale, and a variety of vendors.
All donations from the event will benefit the Animal Advocates of Chattooga County and the Teloga Fire Department.
Organizers note the event is cash-only, and cell service may be limited in the area.
The Berry Farms Farmers Market is set to return this Saturday, April 18, offering a wide selection of locally grown and handcrafted goods in Rome.
The market, a student-run enterprise from Berry College, will be held from 9 AM until 12 PM at the Westcott parking lot on the Berry College campus.
Shoppers can expect a variety of fresh and locally sourced items, including Angus beef, herbs, potted plants, artisan cheeses, honey, and beeswax products, along with handcrafted goods produced by students and local vendors.
The market highlights products from Berry’s Season’s Harvest program and other student-led enterprises, giving visitors a chance to support both local agriculture and student entrepreneurship.
Organizers say the event is a great opportunity for the community to explore fresh products while supporting Berry College students and their hands-on learning experiences.

The event will take place Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Dowdy Park.
Organizers say the Spring Market is a great way to welcome the season, featuring a wide variety of vendors and activities. Shoppers can browse arts and crafts, jewelry, baked goods, body and hair care products, wooden items, live plants, specialty pet items, food, and more.

The Summerville Middle School FFA is inviting the community to its annual plant sale, beginning tomorrow with a wide variety of flowers, vegetables, and herbs available.
The sale will run April 15 through April 18, 2026 at the Summerville Middle School greenhouse, located at 200 Middle School Road in Summerville.
Local residents will have an opportunity to connect with area farmers and learn more about locally grown products during an upcoming Farm Stand Meet and Greet in Chattooga County.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m. at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center in Summerville.

The City of Summerville is encouraging vendors to reserve their space now for the upcoming Hwy 27 Longest Yard Sale, set for August 6th through 8th at Dowdy Park.
