Hemphill A.M.E. Zion Church in Summerville will celebrate its 138th anniversary on Sunday, September 20, with a special afternoon worship service.

The anniversary celebration begins at 3 PM, with dinner being served earlier in the day at 1:30 PM.

The guest preacher will be Rev. Brandon M. Moore, pastor of Faith A.M.E. Zion Church in Atlanta. Special music will be provided by the gospel award-winning group “Chosen.”

Rev. Mark A. Carr serves as pastor of Hemphill A.M.E. Zion Church, with Rev. Reginald M. Morton serving as Presiding Elder.

The church invites members, former members, friends and the community to attend the anniversary celebration.
