Families across Chattooga County, Northwest Georgia, and nearby Alabama communities are planning now as school systems across the region have set their Christmas break schedules for the 2025–2026 school year.

In Chattooga County, Chattooga County Schools will be out for Christmas break from December 23, 2025 through January 2, 2026, with the last day of class being this Friday, December 20, 2025. Christmas break on the Chattooga Calendar starts on Tuesday since the school system is always out on Mondays.  Trion City Schools will also have their last day of class before Christmas break this Friday, December 20, 2025 and will return to class on Friday, January 2, 2026.

Walker County Schools and Floyd County Schools will also have their last day of class on Friday, December 20, 2025 and return on January 6, 2026.

Gordon County Schools list winter holidays beginning December 19, 2025 and continuing through January 3, 2026.

Across the state line in Alabama, DeKalb County Schools list Christmas holiday from December 22 through 31, 2025, along with a New Year’s holiday January 1 and 2, 2026, and a return to school on January 6, 2026. Cherokee County Schools in Alabama list Christmas break from December 22, 2025 through January 2, 2026, with January 6, 2026 marked as the start of the second semester.
