Indians Middle School soccer tryouts for grades 5–8 have been impacted by the cold snap moving into Northwest Georgia. Coaches say tryouts that were planned for Monday are cancelled due to cold temperatures and poor field conditions.

Tryouts are still scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, and Wednesday, January 28, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Students may choose one of those two days to attend. Coaches are asking students to plan ahead and come prepared, and they remind families that tryout attendance is required if a student wants to be considered for the middle school soccer program. Coaches also note that attending tryouts does not guarantee a spot on the roster.

Tryouts will be held at the Chattooga High School Practice Field, located by the softball field and near the Summerville Recreation Department. For students attending on Tuesday or Wednesday, a transportation note is required to ride the activity bus to Chattooga High School. Students will meet at the top of the bleachers inside the football field, then walk together to the practice field.

Students must have a physical on file or bring one to tryouts in order to participate. Athletes are encouraged to bring water and dress appropriately for the weather, including layers for warmth, along with tennis shoes. Shin guards, cleats, and soccer socks are welcome but not required.

Coaches are also asking that any student who cannot attend Tuesday or Wednesday due to a conflict notify the coaching staff as soon as possible. A sign-up option is available using the QR code on the flyer, which is encouraged but not required.

Final rosters will be shared with schools after tryouts conclude. Families with questions can contact the coaching staff through Remind or email: ERSMITH@chattooga.k12.ga.us. Students can also send a message through Remind by texting 81010 with @IMSCC26.
