Landowners in Chattooga County and across Northwest Georgia will have the opportunity to learn more about forestry, wildlife habitat, and property management during the upcoming Landowner Field Day set for April 7, 2026, in Summerville.
Hosted by the Georgia Forestry Association along with several partner organizations, the event will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Mullinax Property, located at 300 Henderson Circle in Summerville. Organizers say the program is part of the inaugural series of Landowner Field Days and is designed to give attendees practical, real-world information they can apply directly to their own land.
Participants will hear from foresters, loggers, and industry professionals while taking part in hands-on demonstrations and educational sessions. Attendees can expect practical management tips aimed at improving timber value, supporting wildlife habitat, and maintaining overall property health. The event will also highlight programs and incentives that may be available to landowners.
Topics scheduled for the day include landowner testimony, Montane longleaf, hardwood management, wildlife management, carbon markets, and learn-and-burn discussions. Organizers say the event is meant to help property owners make informed decisions about their land while also connecting them with experts and conservation resources.
Registration is available online through the Georgia Forestry Association, and attendees may also register using the QR code provided on event materials. A number of sponsors and partner organizations are supporting the event, reflecting a broad effort to promote forestry education and responsible land stewardship in the region.
