Multiple Chattooga County Deputies were called to Back Penn Road on July 26th due to a man chasing juveniles down the road with a metal pipe.

One of the deputies spoke with the girl who was assaulted. She stated that she was visiting her cousin, twenty-eight-year-old Johnathan Blackmon, when he got mad at her because she said she had wanted to go to her best friends house. She said that Blackmon placed his hands around her neck, where he left visible redness, and then grabbed her arm leaving redness on her right arm. She then said she ran away to go to her friends house and that Blackmon’s son ran away as well, but he was picked up by other family members. The deputies went to Blackmon’s house where the incident occurred and found him walking up the street.

Blackmon was then placed under arrest and was put in the back of the patrol car. During the drive to the jail, Blackmon stated that all he did was put his hands around the victims stomach. Blackmon was charged with cruelty to children and battery and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
