MR. ALAN B. DEAN, age 67, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022, at his residence following an unexpected attack.

Born in LaFayette, Georgia on February 12, 1955, He was the son of the late George E. and Billie Watkins Dean. He attended Summerville Elementary, Summerville Middle School where he was Junior Music Club Officer and Junior Fire Marshall, graduating from Chattooga High School in 1973, where he was on the Student Council, was elected student County Commissioner, and was selected Senior Superlatives-Most Dependable and Most Courteous. Mr. Dean won 2nd place in the State of Georgia Boys Solo and Quartet District Meet. He addended Berry College 1973-1976, obtained Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Floyd College, obtained a BSNPA from Medical College of Georgia in 1985. In 2002 He received Masters of Arts Degree, with honors, in Church Ministries in Counseling from the Church of God Theological Seminary.

Surviving are daughter & spouse, Amy and Scott Daniel; son, Jonathan Dean; sister & spouse, Karen and Pat Gaines; grandsons, Kleb Daniel and Jack Cavin; nephew, Ethan Gaines.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 27th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ed Judy and Rev. Jason Lee officiating, interment in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers Ethan Gaines, Kleb Daniel, Charlie Logan, III, Steve Gaines, Kelvin Ratliff, and David Reynolds; Honorary Pallbearers, Mike Floyd, Terry Sentell, Rodney Anglin, and Sammy Breeden. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
