Mr. Clay Windell “Red” Ledbetter, age 65, of Summerville, GA, passed away Sunday February 15, 2009 in Floyd Medical Center. Mr. Ledbetter was born May 14, 1943, in Chattooga County Georgia, the son of the late Marvin Elmer and Purney Artell Crane Ledbetter. He worked for Shaw Industries as a truck driver before his retirement, he was a member of the United Christian Fellowship Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam Conflict and was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Bullington, brothers, Elmer Gray Ledbetter, and Larry Gene Ledbetter. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Laura & Marc Swint, Birmingham, AL, sons and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Amanda Ledbetter, Cartersville, GA, Jeff Ledbetter, Birmingham, AL, sisters, Nancy Farley, and Carolyn Wyatt, Summerville, GA, brothers, Douglas Ledbetter, Summerville, GA, Stanley Ledbetter, Seguin, TX, Mickey Ledbetter, Mt. Dora, FL, grandchildren, Katie Swint, Abby Swint, Kassie Ledbetter, Brittany Pilcher, Kimberly Bartlett, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday February 18, 2009, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Howell & Rev. Daniel Driver officiating with interment in the Trion Cemetery. Mr. Ledbetter will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday February 17, 2009
