Edward “Cotton” Jackson, age 82 of Trion, GA, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA.
Mr. Jackson was born August 9, 1937 in Berryton, GA, son of the late Lonnie Edward and Jessie Lee Smallen Jackson. He was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church, and before retiring he worked for Larry Martin Realties as a Project Manager as well as owned several local businesses. He was an avid golfer and loved singing in church when his health permitted.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mrs. India Elaine Jackson, 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Mike Adair, Suzanne and Robert Compton, and Shirley and Jimmy Bowers; 3 grandchildren and 2 grandsons-in-law, Nicole and Jeff Ledbetter, Ashley and Tyler Sanford, and Jackson Bowers; one great-granddaughter, Ayla Sanford; one sister and brother-in-law Ann and Sam Hudsputh; one niece Michelle and Randy Elrod; and one great nephew, Taylor and Ashley Elrod.
Funeral Services for Mr. Jackson will be held Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 3 p.m. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Russell officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Mike Adair, Jimmy Bowers, Jeff Ledbetter, Tyler Sanford, Jackson Bowers, and Taylor Elrod. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Martin and Sam Hudsputh.
Mr. Jackson will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
