Mr. Edward Eugene Scoggins, age 74, of Summerville, GA died Monday,
August 20, 2012 at his residence.
 
Mr. Scoggins was born July 11, 1938 in Summerville, GA, the son of the late
Benjamin Delaney Scoggins and Rozell Maxey Scoggins.  Mr. Scoggins was
a member of Grace Baptist Church and the Chattooga County Saddle Club .
He was retired from Local 0225, where he worked as a carpenter.  Other than
his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Johnnie Roper
Scoggins; and sisters, Blanche Bean, Nona Maxwell, Ruby Brewster, and
Carrie Morrow; and a son-in-law, Donnie Milam.
 
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Kerri Scoggins,
Tim and Naomi Scoggins; daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda Milam,
Sheila and Harvey D. Duncan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donny and
Eula Belle Scoggins, Johnny and Eleanor Scoggins; 11 Grandchildren;
10 Great Grandchildren; special friend, Bill Broyles; and a number of
nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m.  Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at
Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn officiating.  Burial will
follow at Subligna Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Ben Duncan, Derek
Milam, Brian Kittle, Brent Maxwell, Jeff Cochran, and Mike Duke. 
Honorary pallbearers will be Vic Simpson, Joe Carroll, Albert Rutledge,
Bill Broyles, Randy Allmon, and Jack Nelson.
 
Mr. Scoggins will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will
receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012.
