Mr. Edward Mack William Majors, age 73, of Menlo, GA, passed away Thursday August 18, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Majors was born March 23, 1938, in Menlo, GA, the son of the late William Edward and Carrie Lee Bryson Majors. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Moose Lodge, United Auto Workers and was the former owner of Major’s Cash & Carry, and a former Menlo City Council Member. Prior to retirement, Mr. Majors was employed with General Motors for 32 years and as a chemist with the City of Summerville Water Treatment Plant. He was preceded in death by a son Timothy Majors.

Survivors include his wife, Mary J. Majors, sons and daughters-in-law, George Burnham and Susie Wallin, and Chuck and Dannette Burnham; daughters and son-in-law, Tammy Valentine, Kathy Burnham Diedericks and Wayne Diedericks and Mary Jane Phillips; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Donna Majors and Lee and Maxine Majors; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Alma and Jackie Humphrey and Ann and Bobby Smith; grandchildren, Aleshia McCullar, Jimmy McCullar, Branden Valentine, Shavon Lowe, Shantel Burnham, Christopher Burnham, Sean Diedericks, Nina Burnham, Robert Phillips and Christopher Phillips; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; Special Aunt, Jean Mitchell and a Special Friend, Rose Hammel; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Majors will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn and Rev. Tom Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the AMI Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy McCullar, Branden Valentine, John Wofford, Neil Gilreath, David Langston and Terry Majors. Honorary Pallbearers will be Member of the Menlo City Council, Menlo City Employees and all Personal Friends.

Mr. Majors will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.

Flowers will be accepted, however, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
