Mr. Frank Ward, age 86, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, February 20, 2022, at his granddaughter’s residence.

Mr. Ward was born July 12, 1935, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Bence and Maggie Reed Ward.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church  and was a self-employed farmer and mechanic.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Williams Ward; son, Billy Ward; siblings, Robert Ward, Helen (Charlie) Ward Mann, Eula Mae (Charles) Ward Price, Gladys (Buster) Ward Walker, Mary Lou (Curly) Ward Keith, Berry (Nerine) Ward, Robbie (Ralph) Ward McGraw, and twin sister, Frances Ward.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa (Frank) Wright; granddaughter, Bailee Wright Farrer; and great-grandchildren, Dawson Wright, Oaklyn and Colt Farrer.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Scoggins officiating.  Pallbearers will be Bob Himes, Jeff Owings, Seth Anderson, Mike Bowers, Frank Wright, and Danny McGraw.

There will be no visitation and everyone is asked to meet at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Chattooga County, or to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
