Mr. Frankie Eugene "Cotton" McGraw, age 76, of Summerville, GA died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. McGraw was born December 25, 1934 in Berryton, GA, the son of the late James Ollie and Alma Roberta Nelson McGraw. He was a member and deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. McGraw was retired from Riegel Textile where he worked for 20 years as a printer. He was also a self-employed logger. He was a member and treasurer of Chattooga River Coon Hunters Club. Mr. McGraw was a veteran of the United States Army. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Padgett; and a brother, Robert McGraw.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred McGraw; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Lynne McGraw; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jeff Woodall; brother, John "Ollie" McGraw; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cathy and Tommy Beech; grandchildren, Beth and Bill Womack, Chris McGraw, and Carter Woodall, Josh Allmond, Sam Allmond, Keisha Marie, ; 7 Great-grandchildren; special nieces, Felicia Walker and Heather Collette, and a number of Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Bryant and Rev. Ronnie Pettyjohn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Alfred Searles, Tommy Turkett, Ronald Crouch, Clay Askew, Jack Owings, Jerry Nixon, Lee Reed, and Charlie Lowry. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Chattooga River Coon Hunters Club, Jay Sell, all Deacons of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Harry Thompson, Bill Speer, and Micah Studdard.
Mr. McGraw will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011. He will also lie in state at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Wednesday from 10:30 until the service hour.
