MR. FRANKLIN WARD, age 87, of John Jones Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, September 17, 2012, in the local nursing home. He was born in Walker County Georgia on September 24, 1924, a son of the late Deed L. and Lillie Davis Ward. Mr. Ward was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church, a Veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army Paratrooper 82nd Airborn, and was retired from Riegel Textile Corporation. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Alice Timmons Ward, daughter-Diane Lovelace, son-Gerald Ward, sister-Louise Vaughn, and brothers-Tony Ward, Edward Ward, and Bobby Ward.

Surviving are Step-sons: Mitchell &Teresa Hensley of Trion and John & Pam Hensley of Summerville; Four Grandchildren: Phyllis Bussey, Christy Dawson, Katrina Hensley, Tara Hensley-Evans; Brother: Johnny Ward; Ten Great-Grandchildren; Seven Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 20th, at 4:00 P. M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Shores and Rev. Tony Samples officiating, interment in West Hills Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ryan Owens, Keith Henderson, Johnny Ward, Sr., Jamye Dawson, Reggie Ward and Gary Blackwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Staff of Oak View Nursing Home and Redmond EMS. The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home; at other hours the Family will be at the residence of a granddaughter-Christy & Jamye Dawson #739 John Jones Road-Summerville, Gore Community.
