Mr. Gene Ledbetter, age 83 of Gaylesville, passed away Monday, September 17th at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, September 19th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Cosby officiating; burial will follow in Weiss Lake Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday.

Pallbearers include Trey Skelton, Tyler Lawson, Kevin Walker, Charles Crumbley, Roger Haggard and Tom Harton.

Survivors include his wife, Katie M. Thomas Ledbetter; daughters, Jill (Terry) Lawson of Gaylesville and Cindy (Herb) Skelton of Trion, GA; brother, Joe Ledbetter of Rome, GA; sisters, Evelyn Hughes and Ethel Pledger, both of Summerville, GA; grandchildren, Tera (Kevin) Walker, Trey (Ashleigh) Skelton and Tyler (Kathryn) Lawson; great grandchildren, Katie Rose, Eli and Nolan Walker, Joshua Lawson; several nieces & nephews. Memorials may be made to the Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Mr. Ledbetter was a native of Dekalb County, the son of the late James David and Myrtle Mariah Rose Ledbetter and was a member of Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church. He was a retired building contractor and was owner of Weiss Lake Memorial Garden.
