Mr. J. T. Rich, age 92, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, February 6, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Rich was born June 6, 1929, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Arthur Posey Rich and Martha Pearl Chapman Rich.  He was Baptist by faith, and prior to his retirement, was self-employed as a truck driver.  Mr. Rich loved fishing, car restoration, and motorcycles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Rich; sons, Arthur T. Rich and Freddy Rich; daughter, Vickie Cleveland; and grandsons, Freddy Scoggins, Johnathan Scroggins, and Jay Rich.

Survivors include his son, Jack (Trish) Rich; daughters, Juanita Martin and Brenda Peek; brother, David (Ann) Rich; 21 grandchildren; and 51 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Howell officiating.  Interment will follow in Summerville Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jack Rich, Marcus Lee, Lucas Lee, B. J. Rich, Thomas Martin, and Wesley Martin.

Mr. Rich will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Wednesday.

Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
