Mr. John Dolphus Adams, age 81, of the Holland Community, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Adams was born in the Gore, Georgia on February 27, 1931, son of the late John Adams and Niola Myles Adams. He was a member of the Hwy 27 Church of Christ, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and prior to retirement, was employed with Mohawk Industries.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Lurlene Foster Adams; Children and their spouses, Melvin L. and Hattie Foster, Renderal and Leanna Adams, Ronderal Adams, Johnny L. and Gina Adams, Kenneth and Tammy Adams, Lorraine and Robert Adams; an additional daughter-in-law, Carolyn Adams; brother and Sister-in-law, George and Dorothea Adams; sisters and brother-in-law, Helen Mimms, Dorothy O’Donal, Gladys Mitchell, Wilma Warren, and Bea and Lee Victorian; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Adams will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Minister L.D. Ludy and Minister Renderal Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Jordan Adams, Tracy Hines, Renzel Adams, Stanley Barnes, Kaine Darden and Melvin Foster, Jr.; Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Hightower, David Hightower, and Renderal Adams, Jr.
Mr. Adams will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
