MR. JOHNNIE CARL IVEY, age 80, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, May 26, 2014, in the local nursing home. A native of Huntsville, Alabama He was born to the late John Bryant and Lillie Cadilla Michaels Ivey on March 1, 1924. Mr. Ivey was retired from Harriett-Henderson Mills and a Veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army in Naples, South France, and Central Europe; earning the rank of Staff Sargent, and was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead, EAMET Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star.

Surviving are daughters-Carolyn Spraggins, Jane Floyd, and Debbie Kilgo; sons-Dennis Ivey and Steve Ivey; sisters-Rosie King, Audry Rial, Viola Thomas, and Eula Mitchell; Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces , and Nephews also survive.
