Mr. Johnny Blane Shafer Obit (M)

Mr. Johnny Blane Shafer, age 68, of Trion, GA, died Monday, October 22,

2012 at his residence.

Mr. Shafer was born November 8, 1943 in Valley Head, AL, the son of the

late Harry Blane Shafer and Bonnie Blalock Shafer Hunter. He was a self employed

Pulpwooder.

Mr. Shafer is survived by his wife, Brenda Joyce Shafer; children, Johnny

Chris Shafer, Stanley Ray Shafer, Cynthia Darlene Henson, and Beverly

Annette Jones; brothers, J D Shafer and Hershal Shafer; 11 Grandchildren;

and 2 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at

Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Skates and Rev. Malcolm

Harris officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers

will be Randy Jones, Dale Willingham, Chad Barnes, Cecil Henson, Frank

Crabtree, Knight Manis, Danny Ogles, Jim Bearden, Dave Quihillat, and Danny Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers will be retired Pulpwooders and Loggers.

Mr. Shafer will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive

friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012.
