Mr. Perry Phillips “Phil” Hix, age 66, of Trion, GA passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Hix was born in Trion, GA on December 19, 1946, son of the late Freeman Hix and Myrtle Price Hix. He was a member of the Trion First Baptist Church and prior to retirement, was employed in the Textile Industry for 35 years. Mr. Hix was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steed Evans and a step-daughter, Kelli Martin.

Mr. Hix is survived by his wife, Teresa Hix; daughter, Heather Robinson; step-son, Terry Hughes; a brother, George Hix; two sisters, Katherine Humphrey and Freida Parker; 5 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Hix will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Dr. Floyd Roebuck officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brent Tucker, Blake Tucker, Hayden Tucker, Neal Nelson, Mark Nelson, and Rodney Nelson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pete Pettyjohn, Randy Ledford, Johnny Bass, Lester Griffitt, Charles McLeod and Trion Lodge # 160 F&AM.

Mr. Hix will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.

Flowers will be accepted, or those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Trion First Baptist Church.
