MR. SAMMY VICTOR HAMBY, SR., age 73, of Dowdy Drive, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Sunday in a LaFayette health care. A native of Trion, Georgia, Sammy was born to the late Frank and Hattie Forshee Hamby on June 29, 1948. He was retired from the construction industry and was preceded in death by wife, Ruth Matney Hamby.

Surviving are His wife, Teresa Spurlock Hamby; son, Sammy V. Hamby, Jr.; five grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 1st, at 11:00 A.M. from Graveside in Summerville Cemetery, with Rev. Charles Bishop officiating. Active Pallbearers Daniel Spurlock, Anthony Hamby, Steven Hamby, Timothy Evans, Shane Evans, and Phillip Jarrells. The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. at the Funeral Home.
