Mr. Walter Allen “Walt” Kirby, age 54, of Summerville, GA, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Kirby was born November 22, 1963, son of James “Jackie” Kirby, Sr. and the late Freddie Mae Allen Kirby. He was a member of Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church and was employed with S.I. Storey Lumber Company. He attended Armuchee High School where he was a star basketball and football player. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, James E. “Jackie” Kirby, Jr.
Mr. Kirby is survived by his wife of 15 years, Tina Kirby; father, Jackie James Kirby, Sr., son, Marquez Kirby (Bronson Payne); step-children, Jimmy Brown (Brittany), Tyshunn Payne (Tonya), Ryan Jett, Takia Jett; grandchildren, Jasmynd, David, Lawrence, Isiah, Indinia, Rocky, Karson; brothers, Michael Kirby, Joshua Leach, Terry Satterfield, Anthony Watkins; sisters, Cynthia Kirby (Brannon Harris) and Tonia Wilburn (Coby Smith); nieces, Jasmyn Harris, Azariah Smith, AAliyah Smith, Latasha Kirby; nephew, Cody Kirby; great-nephew, Semaj Kirby; special niece and nephew, Natasha and Cody; special family and friends, Zabriel and Vera Perry, Barbara Malroy; special aunts, Janice Perry and Nancy Kirby; special uncle, Ted Kirby.
Funeral services for Mr. Kirby will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Min. Melvin Mosley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Brown, Anthony Watkins, Kevin Dozier, Joe Thompson, Carl Wedgeworth, and Joshua Leach. Flower bearers will be Brittany Brown and Barbara Mallony.
Mr. Kirby will be in state at Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Saturday.
Mason Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Walt Kirby who died on Friday.
