On August 14th, 2026, Alice M. Black, a cherished mother, grandmother (Nanna), and sister, went home to be with Jesus at the age of 82.

Alice was born on October 31st, 1943, in Gaylesville AL. Throughout her 82 years on this Earth, she beautifully exemplified the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31. She looked well to the ways of her household, and the teaching of kindness was always on her tongue. Her children rise up and call her blessed.

Alice worked at Munich American Reinsurance for 47 years where she managed the microfilm department. Alice’s home was always open, and she welcomed and fed all. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Menlo, GA.

Her unwavering faith in Christ was the anchor of her life. She taught her family the power of prayer, the importance of scripture, and the beauty of unconditional love. Her love of Christ guided her steps every single day.

She is survived by her loving children, Alan and JoAnne Black, And Kimberly Brumit; her grandchildren, Taylor Fehr, Justice Fehr, Kenneth Black, Ashlee Stoker, Nicholas Black, Douglas Brumit, And Skylor Fehr and her great grandchildren, Sabastian, Isabella, Declan, and Salem. She was welcomed into Heaven by her Savior, her parents, Amos H. and Clarabell Mitchell, her brothers, Charles Mitchell and Gary Mitchell and her sisters, Isabell Zolnik, Jackie Mitchell, Bonnie Moesnner, and Shirley Meek.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Quinn officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Justice Fehr, Kenneth Black, Nicholas Black, Douglas Brumit, Skylor Fehr, and Grant Dahl.

Ms. Black will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Wednesday.
