Mrs. Doris E. Dover, age 75 of Gaylesville, AL passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Dover was born in Rock Spring, Georgia on May 20, 1937, daughter of the late Samuel Jayhue Sweet and Helena Mae Baker Sweet. She was a member of the Old Way Baptist Church and prior to retirement, was employed with Mt. Vernon Mills. Mrs. Dover was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dover; granddaughter, Tosha Collins; sister, Ruth Ford; and a brother, Charles Sweet.
Mrs. Dover is survived by her husband, Kenneth Dover; son, Robert Dover of Trion; daughters and son-in-law, Debra and Steve Collins, and Susan Sprayberry of Gaylesville; Brother, Wayne Sweet of Trion; sister, Annie Mae Broadrick of Lafayette; 7 grandchildren, Tiffany Lee, Coby Flagg, Andrew Collins, Christopher Sprayberry, Matthew Sprayberry, Joshua Sprayberry, and Meagan Dover; 12 Great Grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dover will be held at 3:00 p. m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Collins, Dwayne Sprayberry, Christopher Flagg, Joshua Collins, Tony “T J” Hawkins, and Derrick Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Collins, Joshua Sprayberry, and Greg Lovinggood.
Mrs. Dover will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. Monday, October 1, 2012.
