Mrs. Doris Jean Mahan Ledford, age 79, of Summerville, GA, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013, at her residence.

Mrs. Ledford was born August 9, 1934, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Walter Blair and Catherine Rebecca Elsberry Mahan.  She was a member of the South Summerville Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with the Chattooga County Board of Education as a Secretary with the North Summerville Elementary School.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Jack” Ledford, Jr., and a brother, Terry Mahan.

Mrs. Ledford is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Evette Ledford, Randy Ledford, and Jack Ledford; brothers, Bob Mahan and Jerry Mahan; grandchildren, Michelle Ledford Brown, Michael Ledford, Jr., and Chelseanne Ledford; and a great-grandchild, Kayli Brown.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ledford will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 5, 2013, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Waters officiating.  Burial will follow in the Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers will be Jeremy Mahan, Terry Mahan, Coleman Ledford, Jerrod Floyd, Gary Floyd, and Randy Thompson.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Sunday School Class of South Summerville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ledford will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour on Tuesday.
