Mrs. Elizabeth Barker Adams, age 95, of Summerville, GA died Friday, December 31, 2010 at her residence after an illness of 2 months.

Mrs. Adams was born May 12, 1915 in Brownsboro, Alabama, the daughter of the late Lawrence Ray Barker and Mamie Hethcoat Barker. She was raised and lived in Hixson, TN before moving to Rome in 1953. Mrs. Adams was the owner of Pine Crest Motel and Restaurant. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Johnny B. Adams in January, 2003; and by a daughter, Mary Alice Adams Cash Davis, on November, 2006; and sisters, Dorothy Bryson, Louise Cooper and O’Dell Burke.

Survivors include daughters, Joyce Adams Davis & Rebecca & husband, Hudon Miller; sister, Eileen Barker Bonds and husband, Russell Bonds; grandchildren, Tina Cash Copeland, Donna Cash Norwood, Sherri Cash McGlocklin, Ricky Davis, Mark Miller and Julie Miller Stewart ; great grandchildren, Beth McCabe, Paige Norwood, Christina Pollycastro, Jonathan McGlocklin, Taylor Copeland, Justin Davis, Jamey Davis, Will Miller, and Wyatt Miller; great great grandchild, Landon Harding.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Monday, January 3, 2011 in Hixson Cemetery, Hixson, TN. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Davis, Mark Miller, Hudon Miller, Johnny McGlocklin, Michael Norwood, and Jamey Davis.

Mrs. Adams will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Sunday, January 2, 2011. She will also lie in state at McConnell Chapel, Hixson United Methodist Church on Monday from 12:00 until 2:00 p. m.
