Mrs. Elsie W. Cooper, age 96 of Trion passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Cooper was born in Dekalb County, Alabama on December 17, 1921, daughter of the late Grover C. Wright and Minnie Clark Wright.  She was a member of the Lookout Hall Church of Christ and was a homemaker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joe Simmons; step-daughter, Carolyn Williams; sisters, Catherine Chamlee and Ruth Martin; and brothers, Carmen Wright, Paul Wright, Alvis Wright and Fred Wright.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by daughters and son-in-law Gina Smith and Glenda and Jim Patton; sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Brenda Cooper and Tim Cooper; sister Jan Bishop; brother, Jimmy Wright; grandchildren, Mike Simmons, Stephanie Williams, Zachary Cooper, Calen Cooper, Starr McGill and Casey Wallin; great-grandchildren, Scarlett Williams, Jenna Claire Cooper; Davis Simmons, Sydney Simmons, Ella Jane Simmons, Savanna McGill, Sophie McGill, Brody Ward and Sadie Wallin; special friends, Bonnie Clowdis and Frances Keith Stentell and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Cooper will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 3:30 PM in the West Hill Cemetery with Minister and Family Friend Terry York officiating.

Pallbearers will be Zack Cooper, Calen Cooper, David Wright, Jim Wright, Kenny Chamlee and Randy Bishop.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Cooper will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 2-3 PM.
