Mrs. Gwendola Johnson, age 92, of Trion, GA, died Monday, November 4, 2013, at her residence.

Mrs. Johnson was born March 29, 1921, daughter of the late Joseph Wesley and Beulah Velma Smith White.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Lyerly United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cooper Johnson, and brothers, Gladston White and J. B. White.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rayburn and JoAnn Mitchell, Ron and Teri Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Phillip Smith; grandchildren, Fran and Daryl Buchanan; great-grandchildren, Gerren Buchanan, Sage Buchanan, Jordan and Crystle Buchanan; great-great-grandchildren, Shane Buchanan and Jacob Buchanan.

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2013, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marshall Bryan officiating.  Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Lyerly United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Johnson will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until the service hour on Wednesday.
