Mrs. Joyce Ann Reynolds Brown, age 85 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at a Rome hospital.
Mrs. Brown was born in Summerville, Georgia on February 19, 1936, daughter of the late William Latin Reynolds and Beulah Louise Stewart Reynolds. She was a member of the Berryton Baptist Church, where she was active in the Ladies Sunday School Class, and was retired from the Chattooga County School System, working as a Para-Pro. Mrs. Brown was a long time Trustee with the Library Board and was a former Girl Scout Troop Leader. She enjoyed gardening, planting plants and loved flowers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Harvey Brown, Sr.; sister, Betty Howell; brothers, Billy Reynolds and Robert “Rab” Reynolds; a granddaughter, Kelsey McGraw; and a special friend, Harold Broyles.
Mrs. Brown is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Waymon Blansit and Ann and Danny Wooten; son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Robin Brown; sister, Kathy Dillard; brothers, Donald “Duck” and Martha Reynolds and F.L. “Bud” Reynolds; grandchildren, Danielle Wooten (Nigel Plant), Latin (Samantha) Wooten; Carly (Justin) Carruth and Brecklyn Brown; great grandchildren, Zoi Phillips, Grayson Plant, Anna Wooten, Daniel Wooten, Addi Carruth and Cohen Carruth; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Brown will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Mickey Skates and Rev. Sanford DeBerry officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will include Justin Carruth, Nigel Plant, Latin Wooten, Britt Dillard, Randall Reynolds, Eric Reynolds, Stacy Dillard and Michael “Smokey” Howell. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ladies Sunday School Class and Members of the Berryton Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brown will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
