MRS. MARY WHITLEY GRIMES, age 70 of Allen Street, Summerville, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, June 5, 2022, in a Rome hospital. She was born July 15, 1951, a daughter of the late T. C. “Bud” Whitley and Mary Beatrice Bailey Whitley. Mrs. Grimes was retired Clerk for the Chattooga County Clerk of Courts office, and a member of the Trion First Baptist Church.

Surviving are Her husband, Tommy Grimes; daughter, Candy Grimes; grandson, Kamdyn Grimes; brother and sister-in-law, Chip and Serena Whitley; nephew, Tyler Whitley; niece, Christa Menkara.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 8th, at 1:30 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Casey Bramlett and Rev. Stanley Smith officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Ricky Simms, Kevin Lee, Britt Carpenter, Doug Jones, Bob Roper, Dale Wilson, Randell Reynolds, Rusty Hill; Honorary Pallbearers will be Adult #2 Sunday School Class of Trion First Baptist Church.
