Mrs. Sarah Lee Smith, age 76, of Gaylesville, AL, died Sunday, May 17, 2015, at her residence.

Mrs. Smith was born February 20, 1939, in Cherokee County, AL, daughter of the late Herschel Renfroe Van Pelt and Nora Lee Lewis Van Pelt.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed with the Cobb County School System.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, William Maurice Smith; sons, Michael W. Smith, Mark A. Smith, and M. Lee Smith; brothers, Dow Van Pelt and Lewis Van Pelt; a sister, Gayle Johnson; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
