Mrs. Twila Dawn Nafziger Ryan age 82 of Summerville, GA passed away Saturday, October 31, 2026 at a Rome, GA hospital.

Mrs. Ryan was born January 29, 1944 in Lancaster, PA to the late Ira and Sara Clymer Nafziger. She was retired from the Rome City School system and was a member of Subligna Baptist Church where she was considered a spiritual mentor to others. She enjoyed reading, baking, and gardening. Mrs. Ryan had a mothering nature and was considered a second mother to her siblings. She cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Ryan; and siblings, Joyce McCarty, Leon Nafziger, Mable Nafziger, and Yvonne Miller.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Jeff (Ellen) Ryan, Roxanne (Johnny) Johnson, Rochelle (Dale) Kauffman, Rhonda (Steve) Wengerd, and Robin Lawson; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dr. Calvin Nafziger, Les Nafziger, Bob Nafziger, Lucy Nafziger, Bonica Osley, Sara Jane Shelley, Carol Good, Cindy Detweiler, June Eberly, and Shirley Lyne; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ryan will take place at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 3 at Subligna Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. Charles Bishop officiating. Interment will follow at Subligna Cemetery with the grandsons serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
