Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Mitchell, age 69, of Gaylesville, AL, died Monday, December 30, 2013

at her residence.

 

Mrs. Mitchell was born August 14, 1944 in Jamestown, AL, the daughter of the late

Fred Graves and Gearldine Payton Graves.  She was a homemaker and a member of Faith

Baptist Church.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Gregory

Payton Mitchell.

 

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband, Roy Mitchell; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory

and Cindy Mitchell; brothers, Lavon Graves and Jimmy Graves; sisters, Linda Graves and

Jean Koonce; and a grandchild, Hayden Mitchell.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. EST on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Faith Baptist

Church.  Rev. Steve Bishop and Rev. Stanley Koonce will officiate.  Burial will follow in the

Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Darrel Mitchell, Stacy Koonce, Tracey

Mitchell, Billy Mitchell, Timmy Mitchell, and Randall Graves.  Honorary pallbearers will be

Jonathan Koonce, Justin Koonce, Noah Dean, Josh Koonce, Jamie Maples, Austin Graves,

Chris Graves, and Kerry Crane.

 

Mrs. Mitchell will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from

6:00 until 8:00 p. m. EST Wednesday, January 1, 2014.  She will also lie in state at Faith Baptist

Church from 1:30 EST until the service hour on Thursday.
