Mrs. Virginia Hamby Parker Durham, age 90, of Trion, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 28th.  She was born in Summerville in 1928 and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and was retired from Best Manufacturing.  Mrs. Durham will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 29, 2018. Funeral services for Mrs. Durham will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 30, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Patterson and Rev. Mrs. Virginia Hamby Parker Durham, age 90, of Trion, GA, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018, in the Health and Rehab Center at Parkside.

Mrs. Durham was born March 18, 1928, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Stephen David and Ressie Payne Hamby.  She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Best Manufacturing.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Parker; second husband, Charles “Porter” Durham; son, David William Parker; step-son, Mack Durham; and her brother, J. S. Hamby.

Mrs. Durham is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry E. and Joyce Parker, Billy R. Parker and Terra Nixon; step-sons, Dennis Durham and Don Durham; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Durham will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 30, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Patterson and Rev. Randy Avans officiating.  Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Corey Parker, Eric Greco, Cody Parker, David Parker, Jeffrey Jennings, Justin Jennings, John David Jennings, and Dylan Parker.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies Circle Sunday School Class of New Bethel Baptist Church.
