Ms. Sherry Lynn Smith, age 55 of Rome, GA formerly of Summerville, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2017 at her residence.

Ms. Smith was born in Lafayette, Georgia on August 2, 1961 daughter of Florene Smith and the late Martin C. Smith.  She was a 1981 graduate of Chattooga High School.  She was a natural care giver and spent her time caring and looking after other people.  In addition to her father, Ms. Smith was preceded in death by sister, Connie Smith.

Ms. Smith is survived by her children, Tameeka Smith, Monica Watkins, Jocilyn Watkins and Colby Watkins; mother, Florene Smith; sisters, Brenda Mason, Betty White and Darlene Smith; brothers, Steve Rogers and Wayne Rogers; special friend, Eddie Watkins; grandson, DeQuoya  Smith, Ashley Smith and Marcus Burks; great granddaughter, Marley Danyel Ranae Smith; special nephew, Marty Greene; and a number of additional nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Ms. Smith will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Odom officiating.  Private family burial will be at a later date.

Ms. Smith will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 5:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
