Nearly 300 students from across Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s nine-county service area will be honored this week during GNTC’s 2025 Fall Commencement Ceremony. Graduation will be held Thursday, December 4th, at the Dalton Convention Center, with the ceremony beginning at 6 p.m.
The evening will feature the traditional processional with graduates, faculty, and administrators, followed by the National Anthem and an invocation. GNTC President Dr. Heidi Popham will welcome students and guests, and the commencement address will be delivered by Jennifer Dixon, GNTC’s Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year.
College leaders will also recognize High Honor and Honor graduates, along with a special acknowledgment for graduates who are military veterans and students involved in campus organizations like FBLA Collegiate, SkillsUSA, and Student Government.
Graduates will receive associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates across a wide range of programs—everything from healthcare and business to skilled trades, aviation, engineering, criminal justice, and early childhood education.
With families and friends filling the convention center, the ceremony will celebrate students completing their training and stepping into the workforce with new skills, new credentials, and new opportunities.
