New Echota–Cherokee Capital State Historic Site will host Mission Holiday: Traditional Cherokee Recipe on December 20th, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The program will take place in the Middle-Class Cabin and marks the final installment of the Traditional Cherokee Recipe series for 2025.

During the event, visitors will experience a recipe preserved in the Moravian Diaries, written in the early 19th century at the Moravian mission at the Vann House, also known as Springplace. A park ranger will present the recipe and discuss the important role missionaries played within the Cherokee Nation during the early 1800s, including their influence during the removal period.

Admission is required, with fees ranging from $6 to $8, and includes entry to the museum, a self-guided walking tour of the historic grounds, and participation in the Mission Holiday program.
