Happening today at James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park, families are invited to enjoy the Peppermint Project, a festive holiday event presented by the Friends of Sloppy Floyd from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The evening promises a magical kickoff to the holiday season with fun for all ages.

Children and adults alike can step into the holiday spirit by visiting The Woodland Elves of the Peppermint Cave, hearing imaginative stories about elves working to meet a big candy-making deadline, and seeing special appearances by Santa Claus, the Grinch, and Mrs. Cardinal—perfect for memorable family photos.

In addition to the characters and storytelling, the event features hot chocolate and cookies, craft making, marshmallow roasting, and plenty of other festive activities that make it a fun, family-friendly night.

While the event admission itself is free, there is a $5 parking fee per vehicle unless guests have a Georgia State Parks annual pass. Local libraries offer a limited number of park passes that can be checked out for free, making it easier for families to attend.

Bundle up and bring the kids out today for a night of holiday magic and community fun at Sloppy Floyd State Park!
