On March 18, 2010, Louise Sprayberry Thomas Pledger passed away from her pain into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on May 8, 1926 to Martha Jane Sprayberry and Hubert F. Sprayberry in Trion, GA. She had one sister, Marie, who died before Louise was born. She lived in Trion and Summerville, GA her entire life and was retired from Bigelow-Sanford where she was an accounting secretary for many years. She was a lifelong Baptist and was very faithful to attend service and lend her strong alto voice to the hymns she loved.

She was the widow of John D. "J D" Pledger, Jr. who passed away in February 2000. They were married for more than 50 years and she will be interred beside him in West Hills Cemetery in Trion. Her first husband was William Max Thomas who was killed in combat in WWII in Belgium.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Pledger Turner of Tunnel Hill, GA and Jenith Thomas Strickland of Chattanooga, TN, where she lived for several months prior to her death. She is also survived by two sons-in-law, Leon D. Arnold and Kenneth Strickland who were very dear to her. Her grandchildren are Beth Arnold Bean (Tony), of Trion, GA, Amy Arnold Miller (Scott) of Alpheretta, GA, Ashley Arnold Epperson, of Tunnel Hill, GA, and Matt Strickland of Chattanooga, TN. She is also survived by several Great-grandchildren that she took special delight in. They are Laura Bean, Matthew Strickland, Kaylee Strickland, Chelsey Arnold, Bryce Epperson, Grace Miller, and Megan Miller. They brought her great joy and she shared many special occassions with each one. They were always glad to see their Granny come in.

Mrs. Pledger was at the NHC of Chattanooga at the time of her death. We are especially grateful for the staff and nurses at NHC and the care of Hospice of Chattanooga. We would also like to acknowledge the staff at Suites at Oak View for the seven very happy years she spent in their frinedship and care.

Funeral servcies will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 20, 2010 in the chapel at Mason Funeral Home of Summerville, GA with Rev. Jimmy Weaver of Dry Valley Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be at the Mason Funeral Home Saturday March 20, 2010 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.
