Summerville Police were called to a residential neighborhood following a dispute involving two men who reportedly had a history of disagreements.
According to a Summerville Police Department incident report, officers responded to the Summerville Gardens area after receiving a complaint about a man allegedly yelling and using profanity toward another resident.
The incident involved 73-year-old Timothy Bartlett, who lives at 201 Summerville Gardens Drive, and 78-year-old Jo Sorrow, who lives at 168 Summerville Gardens Drive.
Sorrow told police that Bartlett had walked past his residence and yelled and cursed at him. He said this was not the first time Bartlett had engaged in that type of behavior toward another tenant.
Sorrow also told officers that he and Bartlett had a history of disagreements and that the two men did not get along.
When police spoke with Bartlett, he acknowledged that he had been in the wrong.
Bartlett explained that he had seen a friend near Sorrow’s residence and became upset, leading him to speak to the friend and direct an insulting remark toward Sorrow.
Police advised Bartlett to stay away from Sorrow’s residence.
Bartlett told officers that he would not walk near the residence again.
The incident was documented as a noncriminal domestic dispute, and no arrest was reported.
