Rev. John David Gill, age 71, of LaFayette, GA died Monday, October 7, 2013 at his residence.

Rev. Gill was born May 5, 1942 in Summerville, GA, the son of the late Jess Gill and Emma Ponder Gill. Rev. Gill was a member of Faith Worship Center. He was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, J. D. Gill, Melvin Gill, and Lester Gill.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Gill; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Kenny Clark and Gina and Eric Hurley; sisters, Louise Kinsey and Ester Saber; grandchildren, Joshua Smallan, Chelsey Smallan, and Lance Corp. Joseph Smallen; step-grandchildren, Katie Clark, Nathan Clark, Zach Clark, and Erica Hurley; step great grandchild, Lawson Sain; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Swafford and Rev. Ricky Clark officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by Bro. Max Reed. Active pallbearers will be Kenny Clark, Joshua Smallan, Danny Galloway, Max Reed, Doug Gill, and Donnie Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Nieces, Nephews, and Employees of SolAmor Hospice.

Rev. Gill will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p. m. Friday, October 11, 2013.
