With less than a week left until Christmas, the City of Summerville is encouraging families across Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia to take advantage of extended shopping hours and a festive downtown atmosphere during “Sip, Shop, & Sleigh” in Downtown Summerville.
The special shopping night is set for Friday, December 19, with participating downtown businesses open until 8:00 p.m. It’s an extra opportunity for shoppers to finish up gift lists, find something unique, and enjoy a holiday evening in town without having to make a long drive.
City officials and local business leaders are also using the event as a reminder that shopping local matters—especially this time of year. When you spend your dollars close to home, you’re supporting local jobs, helping small businesses stay strong, and keeping downtown Summerville vibrant for the entire community.
Merchants say an earlier downtown event during this Christmas shopping season was a huge success, drawing strong crowds and lots of support. Because of that turnout, downtown businesses worked together to plan another opportunity for shoppers to come back out, enjoy the holiday spirit, and keep that momentum going heading into the final days before Christmas.
Participating locations include Sweet Beaux Mercantile, Dirt Pour, Gaga’s Boutique, Spring Creek Boutique, and New Moon Threads. Hayden Taylor Designs is also taking part and will be open until 10:00 p.m., giving shoppers even more time to browse.
If you still have shopping to do, Friday night in Downtown Summerville could be a great chance to wrap up the season—while supporting the local businesses that help make the community what it is.
