A Summerville man was arrested following a domestic dispute on Ralph Chamblee Drive earlier this month that allegedly involved threats with a knife.

According to a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office incident arrest report, deputies responded to 107 Ralph Chamblee Drive at approximately 6:51 PM on Wednesday, August 12, after receiving a report of an intoxicated man causing problems at the residence.

The report identifies the man as 63-year-old Christopher Lloyd Crabb.

According to the report, Crabb’s mother told deputies that her son had been drinking and causing problems. A deputy initially spoke with Crabb and advised him that his mother could have him removed from the residence and that he needed to stop causing a disturbance.

Deputies were called back to the same residence a short time later after Crabb’s mother reported that he had threatened her with a knife.

The report states that Crabb allegedly grabbed a knife, held it toward his mother and threatened to harm her. She reportedly went into another room, but Crabb allegedly continued the confrontation and later picked up another knife.

According to the report, Crabb’s mother said he also threatened to burn the house down.

A witness at the residence reportedly told deputies that Crabb had been arguing with his mother and sister and had been making threats while holding a knife.

Crabb was arrested and charged with Offender Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Chattooga County Detention Center.

The incident was investigated by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
